Travellers visiting Romania for leisure, sightseeing, or to visit family and friends may need to apply for a Romania Tourist Visa (Type C). This short-stay visa allows visits of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Although Romania is not yet a full Schengen member, its visa rules are harmonised with the Schengen Visa Code (EU Regulation 810/2009).
Who Needs a Romania Tourist Visa
A visa is required if you are a citizen of a country that is not exempt from Romania’s visa policy or if you do not hold a valid Schengen, EU, or UK residence permit.

- Hold a Schengen residence permit or long-term visa issued by an EU/EEA country.
